BeOS redesigned

yellowTAB anounces that Zeta 1.0 is ready and can be seen on CeBIT 2005.Zeta is based on BeOS originally developped by Be, Inc. Currently owned by Palm.

Minimum hardware requirements: Pentium 200MHz (or compartible), 32MB RAM, 600MB HDD, 8 MB Video RAM, bootable CD-ROM and of course keyboard + mouse. On their web site you can find hardware compartibility list, and be sure that your hardware is supported before trying it (from my expierence with BeOS it runs much slower on unsupported hardware - especially video cards).

Hard Drive Password (even on PC)

An interestig article was published in heise online .

Apparently all ATA HDD could be locked with password as many of today's portable computer's.

I've checked my drive and locking with password was possible.

Now we shoud wait hacker or virus to lock our drive - the only solution to unlock is to handle it to specialized company (and for the price of new one they will unlock it) or to throw it away (even on another PC it wouldn't be possible to format and use it it)
